J.R.R Tolkien, “I Sit Beside the Fire and Think”, The Fellowship of the Ring

I realized it’s been over 10 years since I last read the Lord of the Rings. I gave the book to a colleague of mine and haven’t seen it since.
I’m re-reading it now. Also, it’s the first time I read it in English. There is a lot that I’ve forgotten over time, and I’m enjoying the book again.
There I found this poem, that I haven’t noticed much before, sung by Bilbo before the departure of the Fellowship from Rivendell. It is really touching.
Apparently, the poem was translated to Sindarin and is included in the movie score as a song. It’s the last song played in the Return of the King, just before the credits roll over: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJQmsKgqF0A
And the Sindarin text is here: http://www.amagpiesnest.com/source_songs/ROTK/SSbilbos_song.htm

This is one of my favorite poems from the Lord of the Rings. I didn’t know they’d included it in RotK! That’s wonderful!

I did not know this. It’s beautiful.
